Rising Church Announces a New Meeting Place for the New Year

Transitioning to 24/7-space in downtown Leesburg after being a mobile, setup/tear-down church for 18 months.

Leesburg, December 27, 2016: Rising Church, one of Leesburg’s youngest and newer churches, is pleased to announce their transition to a permanent and regular meeting space beginning Sunday, January 1, 2017. They will begin the new year meeting at the Elijah Gate Christian Center in downtown Leesburg located at 115 Harrison St NE, Leesburg, VA 20176.

After renting the lower level of the Ida Lee Recreation Center on Sunday mornings for their first 18 months, the church plant is looking forward to having a regular meeting space that will allow them to keep everything setup from one week to the next. They will no longer have to load-in and load-out every weekend.

While the move to the Elijah Gate Christian Center offers Rising Church more consistency and stability, the need for the move was prompted by growth in their Kids Ministry. “Over the past year-and-a-half God has given us the opportunity to reach young families here in Leesburg which has translated into rapid growth in our Kids Ministry. When we began in July of 2016 we had 4 children. Now we can run as many as 15 children on any given Sunday that range from birth through third grade.” Pastor Jason Lamb went on to share, “we needed to move from 1 large room into 2-3 separate classrooms to provide adequate teaching and ministry space.”

Pastor Jason and his family began their church planting journey two-and-a-half years ago when they moved back to Northern Virginia. They met in their home for the first year before making the move to the Ida Lee Recreation Center. Rising Church is grateful for what has unfolded the past few years and excited to see what 2017 holds for them as they move into their new home for the new year.

RISING CHURCH is a church plant of the North American Mission Board and the SBC of Virginia. They began meeting as a small group in August of 2014 and started Sunday morning worship gatherings in July of 2015.

PASTOR JASON LAMB is passionate about reaching the unchurched with the Gospel, making disciples who make disciples, and planting churches that will plant other churches. Before planting Rising Church he served for 15 years as a Youth Pastor highlighted by five years at Dare 2 Share Ministries, Int’l, near Denver, CO. He earned is Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies & Philosophy from Gardner-Webb University in May of 2000. Jason and his wife, Neva, live in Leesburg with their 3 sons.
