We are just inside of 2 weeks of our first weekly worship service on July 5, 2015 @ 10:10am. As I reflect on our church planting journey that stretches back almost 22 months now, one of the things that I am most humbled and blown away by is the generosity of so many people that has allowed us to get to this point. I’m not just referring to the individuals, churches, and organizations that have and continue to financially support us as a missionary family – although their generosity to our ministry is astounding. In this particular moment I am thinking about the many people who have purchased various items and equipment on our Amazon Wish Lists.

We have been very fortunate to have had several items purchased on our behalf. We have had people purchase a video camera,  speakers, cables, direct boxes, microphones, coffee makers, etc. It has been amazing to know others are excited about what we are doing as a church plant and they want to be a part of it by providing for our needs.

As amazing as it has been to receive these items over the past several months (going to our UPS box is often like Christmas when I know a package is waiting for me) this past week has been a special experience. We made an Amazon Wish List for our Children’s Ministry that had everything from a TV/DVD combo and a portable CD player to Bible posters and puzzles. The 20+ items on the list were things our Children’s Ministry team had compiled to get us to the place that we would be ready to kick off our ministry to kids well as we launch our weekly worship services. In the span of just a few days several people went online and purchased EVERY item on our Children’s Ministry Amazon Wish List.

PRAISE GOD! I am still amazed at the generosity of so many people to equip us with the resources we need to minister to the people of Leesburg, VA and Loudoun County AND their children via our weekly worship services. It is truly humbling to know that there are so many people who believe in what we are doing and want to be a part of this adventure with us.

As we get ready for our launch on Sunday, July 5, 2015 @ 10:10am we still have several items on our church plantmobile chest Amazon Wish List that will help us execute our weekly worship services well. That said, our biggest current need is for the 4 mobile chests that will allow us to load/unload our equipment with a little more ease. We are still hauling our gear in the back of our minivan and SUV – and might not be too far away from needing a trailer to haul it all around in – but the mobile chests will definitely make it much easier to port it around and will protect the equipment while it is being stored and transported.

  • If you are able to contribute 1 or more of these mobile chests, please check out our Amazon Wish List to make the purchase for our church plant.
  • You can also visit our Amazon Wish List to see what other equipment we are in need of as everything on that list will equip us to minister more effectively in just a few short weeks.
  • Finally, as we enter into this next year of ministry and begin meeting weekly our financial need is growing. You can make a tax-deductible donation to our church plant online via our website: http://www.therising.cc/give

Many thanks to those of you have supported us and purchased equipment for us. Many thanks to those of you who have chosen to support and purchase equipment by checking out our Wish List to buy our remaining needed equipment. As Rising Church, we are able to do what we are doing – in large part – to the many people who have generously given to our cause of reaching the lost of Leesburg and Loudoun County. Thank you for your generosity!
