Last night after the SYMC General Session we were invited to stay and watch a pre-screening of Soul Surfer, the movie coming out on April 8th about Bethany Hamilton (professional surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack). It was hosted by our friends at Interlinc who are all about using music and media to connect teenagers with the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This movie is just that…
First of all, let me just say it’s cool to say I saw a pre-screening. Second of all, let me say that it was a solid movie that portrayed some amazing biblical truths.
This movie will be an amazing conversation starter to all things spiritual and will provide several opportunities to share the Gospel with those who don’t know Christ. I highly recommend the movie in general, but emphatically urge you to create an opportunity as a Youth Group to go see the movie. Have your teens invite their lost friends to come along and check out the film with you. Soul Surfer clearly communicates scripture and truths from a Christian worldview. We simply need to step in and connect the dots from there to Jesus and allow the Gospel to do its work.
Mark your calendars for April 8th and begin promoting this opportunity with your teens today!
