I was totally stoked that coming off the Dare 2 Share Invincincible conference that we had 24 or 25 teenagers at small group tonight.  It was a great time to debrief the conference as about 20 of them attended it this weekend.  It was awesome to hear how God spoke to each of them through a different aspect of the weekend.  We spent time discussing the focal passage of the weekend: Ephesians 6:10-20.  The teens opened up and shared what was on their hearts.

So now what?  Great conference weekend but if we leave it at that then it was a wasted two days, in my opinion.  While the evangelism training weekend should prove to be catalytic for our group, it is on Sam and I to sustain the Deep & Wide Youth Ministry model in our small group.  So to answer the question, “Now what?” we have two initial steps that we are taking with our students.

  1. Get back on track with memorizing scripture using the passage from the Invincible conference.  We are all going to memorize Ephesians 6:10, “Finally, be strong in the LORD and in His mighty power.”
  2. We had our teens give us the names of 5 friends they are going to Shred the Gnar with.  They wrote those names down and gave them to us on note pads.  We are now going to compile a spread sheet to keep them accountable and a master list that we share the first names of these friends with our whole group so we can pray for them together.

I look forward to what God has in store for our group and what He will accomplish as these teens Shred the Gnar with their friends and grow in their relationship with Him.

**Be on the look out for a post specifically about my ongoing Journey with Michael.
