What an incredible day? There are so many aspects of the Invincible conference to share with you that were transformational and impactful – but I don’t want to give away too much for those who haven’t had the opportunity to attend yet. Here are the highlights:
- Shreddin the Gnar Youth Leader session. This may be the most practical and tactical training that Dare 2 Share has ever offered Youth Leaders and is quite the compliment to the ALT-ernative training that was offered at this year’s Invincible Previews. The primary focus was getting your teenagers to a place where they aren’t just reciting the G.O.S.P.E.L., and more than just explaining the G.O.S.P.E.L., but arming and equipping them to have spiritual conversations with their friends in which they can discuss the G.O.S.P.E.L. with them.
- The teenagers were trained to share their faith with their friends through the back drop of Ephesians 6:10-20 in which they were reminded that sharing their faith is how we wage a spiritual war for the souls of our friends. After being trained in the G.O.S.P.E.L. they were given two challenges for the afternoon: call a friend on their cell phone and share the G.O.S.P.E.L. and then they were unleashed in the city to collect canned goods and share the G.O.S.P.E.L. as they went door to door.
- In addition to the Youth Leader training, the students were also inspired and motivated to Shred the Gnar with five friends following the conference weekend. The final thrust of the weekend was reminding the students that they must wage this war through the power of prayer.
Every year the Denver conference has that unique and special twist to it as it is our hometown conference. Every year we see and hear about the incredible things that happen. This year though, considering the training Greg gave and the content that was downloaded to both Youth Leaders and teenagers, I have a strong feeling that we are going to hear about more and more life-changing and transformational stories all year long leading up to next year’s Blaze conference.
So there’s my take on the weekend. If you were a Youth Leader at the conference I’d love to hear about your experience and how the weekend impacted you and your group. I’m looking forward to seeing how the Invincible conference serves the purpose of a catalytic training event that propels your ministry throughout the year! What are your next steps?
