So far I have been in the Seattle, WA area for the last 24 hours and it has been a blast!  The purpose of the trip: Dare 2 Share training events in Seattle, WA and Portland, OR.  My traveling companions: Angie Gene and Mr. Dare 2 Share himself, Greg Stier.

Last night when we got in Angie and I met two of her friends at Umi’s Restaurant for some amazing sushi.  Yes, I am a huge fan of raw fish!  After stuffing ourself with a bountiful harvest from the Pacific we headed over to a local burger joint called Dick’s (very similar to In-n-Out Burger).  Being totally stuffed at this point it was time to call it quits before I reached a point of paralysis by gorging.

This morning we got up and headed to our Preview event (of course stopping at a local Starbucks on the way).  Today’s highlight was networking with 100 Youth Leaders who came out for Dare 2 Share’s training, “Turn Your Youth Group into a Reality Series,” at Jillian’s in downtown Seattle.  We also promoted the Invincible Tour that makes its stop in Seattle March 20-21, 2009.  After the training we hit a hole-in-the-wall, all-you-can-eat Indian joint with a good friend of Dare 2 Share, Chris Renzelman.  Of course, before we head out of town, he have to hit Starbucks.  We were hoping to hit Pike’s Place, but couldn’t find parking so we opted to hit Starbuck’s Corporate Headquarters just a few blocks away…good times.

We are currently driving down to Portland where we will spend our next 24 hours before flying home to Denver, CO.  Our stay in Portland will consist of the same training where we are expecting to connect with and train another 100 or so Youth Leaders.

Check out my next post to read about the last half of our trip…

  1. Sushi! I learned something new. Kim and I love sushi restaurants. As a matter of fact every time we’ve come to Columbus, OH for the D2S Conference we’ve made it a point to eat at Zen’s across from the convention center. Hey…I just had an idea. You and I will have to hit Zen’s when we’re at Group’s NYMC.

Anyway, I’ve been praying for your preview trainings bro! Praying things go great in Portland.
